Pre-Camp Writing Challenge #1

YWER Camp is 12 days away and we thought we would set up a series of fun challenges to help our inaugural scholars get writing. Each challenge will be listed on our blog over the next few days. Do as many or as few as you like and bring them with you to camp (there may even be awards!).

Challenge #1 Our Camp name is YWER. We pronounce the name- Why We Are. Write a poem or short story entitled Why We Are. It can be about anything. If it is a poem it does not have to rhyme. It cannot exceed 150 words. Write or type it out on a single sheet of paper and bring it to camp with you. Feel free to add an illustration or doodle to your page if you feel compelled to do so. The goal is to write something! Don't get too hung up on perfection.

For this challenge campers will vote for:

1- the funniest

2- the most profound/thoughtful

3- the most surprising
